Well, we are looking for a hardworking, motivated, and enthusiastic person to join our workshop team on the sunny and relaxed Kapiti Coast. We are located 45min north of Wellington and only a 10min walk from the local train station.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified or up and coming technician wanting to experience a large dealership with multiple brands.

Boat City is your complete marine store. With a full Workshop and Installation Division, Boat Sales Department selling leading brands such as Mercury and Yamaha Outboard Motors, Senator, Kiwi Kraft, Buccaneer and Fi-Glass boats, plus a Fishing and Chandlery store packed with all the best product to complement a day on the water.

Ideally you will be a qualified Outboard Engine Technician but this is not essential. We would also look at someone with top automotive or electrical experience. However, you will need to have some mechanical skills. Internal and external training will be provided to bring you up to speed with the way our workshop works and the requirements that our outboard manufacturers set out. There is also plenty of scope to progress as an Outboard Mechanic and gain certifications through
external training with the likes of Yamaha and Mercury.

Skills required

• Knowledge of two and four stroke engines
• Electronic testing ability
• An ability to trouble shoot technical problems
• Current drivers licence
• Work within set time frames
• Physically fit

This is a full time position based on a 40-hour week with possible overtime. In the lead up to Christmas extra hours are required as this is the busiest time of year. Examples of other times you may be required to work extra hours
are when Boat Shows, Fishing Competitions and Product Evenings are on.

We will offer top remuneration which will be based on skills/experience.

Hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday-Saturday

Remuneration will be based around the skill level sought
